...TYPHOON CHAMPI LIKELY A CATEGORY 2 TYPHOON AS IT CONTINUES MOVING
WEST AND APPROACHING GUAM...

Typhoon Champi (29W) is currently undergoing rapid intensification,
as the eyewall has begun to contract, with the eyewall diameter now 
at around 15 miles. Champi continues to move west at around 280
degrees, with a slight decrease in forward speed. Champi is likely
now a Category 2 typhoon as it is approaching Guam coastal waters, 
to further intensify as the day goes by.
