Key Messages... - A low pressure system in the Southern Bering will continue to meander through the week. This low will bring rounds of precipitation to the Western Interior and West Coast. Accumulations are expected to be light with the exception being any isolated thunderstorm that does develop. - An isolated thunderstorm is possible tomorrow afternoon from the Middle to Lower Yukon River Valley and the Kuskokwim Mountains. Most of the thunderstorms will be relegated to the higher terrain, but they could move into the valleys. Any long living thunderstorm could produce heavy rainfall and outflow winds. - Winds will begin to strengthen from the south-southeast across the region Tuesday, with wind gusts up to 35 mph possible in the Western Interior Valleys. Areas above 2500 feet could see wind gusts up to 40 mph. - Across the Western Interior Valleys min RH will be in the 30s to low 40s during the day. Good recovery is expected overnight with RH values in the 70s and 80s. Temperatures will be in the 50s for the remainder of the week, with the upper Kobuk Valley potentially reaching the low 60s.
