FPBA31 MYNN 151000 151000 MYNNYM BAHAMAS PUBLIC FORECAST FORECASTS FOR THE BAHAMAS, ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AT 6:00 A.M. EDT, Thursday, October 15, 2026, FOR TODAY, TONIGHT AND THE NEXT SIX (6) DAYS. THE NEXT SCHEDULED FORECAST WILL BE ISSUED AT 12:00 P.M. EDT. WARNING IN EFFECT: There are no public warnings in effect at this time. GENERAL SITUATION: Residual tropical moisture across the region will continue to generate a few showers, mainly across the northern half of the country today. Meanwhile, weak high-pressure ridging will support slightly more settled conditions elsewhere, as relatively warm temperatures and gentle to moderate easterly breezes persist across the islands. Outlook: By early Friday, deep-layered ridging is expected to briefly build across the island chain before a frontal boundary approaches the Northern Bahamas by Saturday. Pre-frontal troughing will bring a renewed increase in shower and thunderstorm activity, initially across the Northern Bahamas, before spreading into the Northwest Bahamas by late Saturday and into Sunday. The boundary is forecast to stall across the Northwest and Central Bahamas by Sunday and into the start of the workweek, maintaining unsettled conditions across the island chain during this period. Strong high pressure building to the north will also result in a significant strengthening of winds across the island chain from Sunday through the end of next week.
