A conditional risk of severe weather will exist late this morning and afternoon across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas as isolated thunderstorms may develop across the region. Thunderstorm coverage remains uncertain during this time, but any strong to severe storm may produce large hail and damaging wind gusts. Much higher thunderstorm and severe weather potential arrives late tonight across northeast Oklahoma, as a line of storms moves south out of Kansas. All severe hazards will be possible during the overnight hours including damaging wind gusts, large hail, and at least a limited threat of tornadoes. Heavy rainfall is also possible, with potential for localized flash flooding. Highest severe potential tonight lies along and northwest of Interstate 44. TUESDAY...Severe Thunderstorm...High Wind...and Heavy Rain Potential. WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Thunderstorms will likely be ongoing Tuesday morning across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Although storms may be weakening during the early morning hours, re-intensification is possible as storms move southward during the late morning and afternoon. Large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall are the primary hazards Tuesday afternoon, but a limited tornado threat may also develop. Storms are expected to move south of the area by late afternoon with the severe threat ending across the area. Additional rounds of thunderstorms are possible Tuesday night into Wednesday, but the severe weather potential will be much lower during this time. Daily chances of thunderstorms then persist through the end of the week as additional weather systems influence the region.
