(This evening through Saturday) Issued at 1235 PM CDT Fri Oct 16 2026 Gusty northerly winds left in the wake of yesterday's cold front will linger through early this evening before gradually diminishing overnight tonight into Saturday. A Wind Advisory remains in place through 7PM tonight for northerly winds around 15 to 25 mph with gusts as high as 45 mph. Cold overnight low temperatures will also linger through the weekend, with lows each morning dipping into the mid 30s to mid 40s for Saturday and Sunday. Models continue to keep afternoon highs tomorrow in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Unfortunately, this airmass behind the front is much drier than previous days, so there is little to no chance for precipitation in the forecast through the weekend. && .LONG TERM... (Saturday night through next Thursday) Issued at 1235 PM CDT Fri Oct 16 2026 After a chilly start to the weekend, below normal and cooler temperatures this weekend will begin to gradually trend warmer and closer to seasonal normals by mid next week. Winds are expected to become light and variable with skies remain clear Saturday night into Sunday morning, providing a good setup for radiational cooling. This would cause overnight lows to fall into the mid 30s to lower 40s across most of the area. Low-lying areas and river valleys may drop into the mid 30s, which could bring the potential for a light frost being experience across these areas that see the coldest temperatures. A steady warm up will continue into the end of next week as upper-level ridging redevelops across the areas mid to late next week. High temperatures are expected to gradually rise into the mid 70s to mid 80s by mid week, and into the 80s by next Friday. Dry conditions are forecast to continue through much of the work week next week. && .AVIATION...
