FNUS53 KMKX 150743 FWFMKX Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern Wisconsin National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 243 AM CDT Thu Oct 15 2026 .DISCUSSION... Fire weather concerns are low through the period. Temperatures will steadily cool through the end of the week, with readings falling below normal Friday through Friday night behind a strong area of low pressure. Temperatures will steadily rebound through the second half of the weekend into next week. Lowest period of afternoon relative humidities is anticipated Saturday and Sunday with a Canadian air mass in place regionally. Expecting minima between 35-50 percent each day, with readings in the lower 30 percents possible over the Wisconsin River Valley on Saturday. Passing low pressure will bring widespread rain chances this afternoon into tonight. Lighter rainfall could linger into the day on Friday. Expecting beneficial accumulations areawide, with most locations seeing at least half an inch of rainfall by the conclusion of precipitation. Could see a narrower band of higher totals between 0.75"-1.25" materialize somewhere over southern Wisconsin depending on system track, with areas along and south of I-94 and US-18 currently favored. Will be monitoring trends regarding band placement through tonight and providing additional updates.
