...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 PM EDT...

For the following areas...
Waters from Cape Hatteras to Ocracoke Inlet NC from 20 to 60 NM...
Waters from Oregon Inlet to Cape Hatteras NC from 20 to 60 NM...

At 428 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts
were located along a line extending from 46 nm east of Diamond Shoals
to 46 nm southeast of Monitor Marine Sanctuary, moving northeast at
35 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
         hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 
         higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

Severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
