Moderate to breezy easterly winds will continue through at least Tuesday, with conditions then starting to relax for the latter half of the week. Sustained winds during the afternoon will range between 10 to 15 kts with gusts up to 25 kts at times. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop each day, especially over the interior and Southwest Florida areas during the afternoon under the easterly flow. Due to increased chances of thunderstorms, there is an increased risk of fire starts from lightning strikes. Given the persistent drought conditions and dry fuels in southwest Florida, lightning strikes in Collier and Monroe counties will be more likely to create new fire starts. Maximum dispersion values on Tuesday will be very good to excellent with highest dispersions in Southwest Florida. With winds lessening a tad on Wednesday and Thursday, dispersion values will slightly decrease as well. Minimum relative humidity values will remain above critical levels.
