Afternoon high temperatures ranged from the upper 40s in extreme northwest Kansas to the mid 90s in parts of south central Kansas. Showers and thunderstorms were developing along the cold front bringing severe weather to parts of central and northeast Kansas. The cold front will sweep across the state tonight ushering in unseasonably cool air and drier conditions. Some of the storms will become severe in eastern Kansas before exiting the state after midnight. Lows tonight will fall into the lower 30s in northwest Kansas while far southeast Kansas bottoms out in the mid 60s. Breezy northwest winds and dry conditions are expected across the area on Tuesday. Afternoon highs will remain below normal, ranging from the lower 60s in northern kansas to around 70 near the Oklahoma state line. $$
