...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CALDWELL AND EAST
CENTRAL BURKE COUNTIES THROUGH 645 PM EDT...

At 609 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 4
miles south of Lenoir, or over Cajah's Mountain, moving east at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lenoir, Sawmills, Granite Falls, Gamewell, Hudson, Cajah's Mountain,
Connelly Springs, Rhodhiss, Lake Rhodhiss, and Hickory Regional
Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

If on or near Lake Rhodiss or Lake Hickory, get out of the water and 
move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out 
to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, 
you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter 
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
