* Generally mild, seasonable weather is expected for the next
  week.

.SYNOPSIS...Dry, seasonable weather is likely for the next 
week. Slightly warmer interior temperatures are expected today and 
Monday before another trough brings cooler temperatures next week. 
Coastal stratus is likely to clear this afternoon but may be more 
persistent early next week.

.DISCUSSION...Weak high pressure rebuilds over the area today 
bringing slightly warmer temperatures this afternoon for the 
interior. Most interior areas will see highs in the 90s with a stray 
triple digit possible for the warmest valleys. A deep marine layer 
continues to bring stratus deep inland into the river valleys, 
however high pressure will make this slightly shallower than 
previous days. Breezy coastal winds this afternoon are likely to 
scatter any remaining stratus bringing a mostly clear, but breezy, 
Sunday afternoon at the coast with 60s and possibly near 70s 
possible for the immediate coast.

Monday through the middle of the week, a trough starts to approach 
the area bringing slightly cooler interior temperatures along with a 
deeper marine layer. Light winds offshore may lead to coastal 
stratus to be persistent into the afternoons. Moisture and 
instability is limited with this troughing pattern, which will limit 
thunderstorm potential. Generally mild, seasonable weather is likely 
for much of the next week.

.AVIATION...Stratus has rebuilt over the coastal areas. 
A shallow LIFR ceiling is being observed along the coastal waters 
with a more elevated IFR to MVFR stratus later also being observed 
over Humboldt County. LIFR to IFR stratus is likely to continue 
through the night and scatter and lift shortly after sunrise. VFR 
conditions are likely by late morning across the area.

.MARINE...Northerly winds continue to increase today, especially in 
the northern outer waters and in the lee of Cape Mendocino. Wind 
gusts peak at 25 to 30 kts across these areas, but localized gale 
force gusts are possible in the lee of Cape Mendocino. While winds 
nearshore remain light, with peak gusts of 10 to 15 kts, steep seas 
of 6 to 8 ft are likely to propagate nearshore. Winds and seas 
diminish Monday as a frontal boundary arrives to the area. 
Conditions are likely to remain mild through Wednesday afternoon.
