...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 PM CDT
FOR WYANDOTTE...JOHNSON AND SOUTHEASTERN PLATTE COUNTIES...

At 931 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Kearney to near Spring Hill, moving east at 60
mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Emergency management.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile 
         homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Overland Park, Olathe, Shawnee, Lenexa, Leawood, Prairie Village,
Gardner, Merriam, Mission, Bonner Springs, De Soto, Parkville, Spring
Hill, Platte City, Edwardsville, Fairway, Mission Hills, Riverside,
Weatherby Lake, and Edgerton.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Missouri near mile marker 0.
 Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 410 and 423.
 Interstate 35 in Kansas between mile markers 202 and 234.
 Interstate 29 between mile markers 3 and 18.
 Interstate 635 between mile markers 0 and 12.
 Interstate 435 between mile markers 0 and 39, and between mile
markers 76 and 83.
 Kansas Turnpike near mile marker 226.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for northeastern
and east central Kansas...and west central Missouri.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind
speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are
especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be
overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the
lowest floor of a building. These storms have the potential to cause
serious injury and significant property damage.
