Nice late-August weather is expected through Monday with 
seasonable temperatures and comfortable humidity. Expect lows in
the 50s tonight, and then a rebound into the upper 70s/low 80s 
for Monday. Winds will remain light with high pressure in 
control.

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/...

Northwesterly flow aloft is forecast to continue through the
upcoming week. A storm system is forecast to pass to our north 
and east Tuesday night through Wednesday night with 20 to 30 
percent chances of showers and storms. Models show a slight 
increase in moisture ahead of this storm system. Currently the 
higher chances of precipitation are across northwest Illinois. 
Rainfall amounts will be light with generally less than a tenth 
of an inch expected. High temperatures on Wednesday will be 
slightly warmer into the lower to mid 80s.

After Wednesday night, models show another shortwave topping 
the western U.S. ridge and flattening the flow aloft to more 
zonal. This system will begin to impact the area late Friday 
night into Saturday, bringing more humid conditions and another
chance for precipitation.

High pressure is forecast to sit near the Mississippi River in
eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois through the Monday. This 
will result in light and variable winds across the area with 
speeds less than 5 knots. Diurnally driven cumulus is forecast 
to develop after 15 UTC Monday with ceilings around 5 kft. MVFR
visibilities are possibly in patchy fog this morning after 08
UTC at KCID and KBRL with lower confidence that it will occur 
at KMLI so it was left out of that TAF sites for now. If fog
does form, visibilities should quickly improve after 12 UTC.
