Nice late-August weather is expected through Monday with 
seasonable temperatures and comfortable humidity. Expect lows in
the 50s tonight, and then a rebound into the upper 70s/low 80s 
for Monday. Winds will remain light with high pressure in 
control.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/...

Northwesterly flow aloft is forecast to continue through the
upcoming week. A storm system is forecast to pass to our north 
and east Tuesday night through Wednesday night with 20 to 30 
percent chances of showers and storms. Models show a slight 
increase in moisture ahead of this storm system. Currently the 
higher chances of precipitation are across northwest Illinois. 
Rainfall amounts will be light with generally less than a tenth 
of an inch expected. High temperatures on Wednesday will be 
slightly warmer into the lower to mid 80s.

After Wednesday night, models show another shortwave topping 
the western U.S. ridge and flattening the flow aloft to more 
zonal. This system will begin to impact the area late Friday 
night into Saturday, bringing more humid conditions and another
chance for precipitation.

Largely VFR conditions are expected throughout the TAF period,
under light and variable winds. The only possible exception will
be late tonight as patchy fog could develop over the area. The
latest NBM probabilities of MVFR visibility reductions are
around 30-50% - highest around CID and BRL - so have decided to
use TEMPO groups for those two terminals. Some models are quite
bullish on fog tonight, with some going down to IFR visbys, but
confidence isn't high enough to go that low at this time.
