Winds will generally remain around 10 MPH or less in northern and western Iowa today where skies are mostly cloudy and temperatures are cool. However, in southeastern Iowa south southwest winds will increase to near 15 MPH with some gusts to near 25 MPH later today. Humid weather will prevail though, with minimum RH values only around 65-70% in the southeast. On Tuesday brisk northwest winds will surge into the area, with speeds of 15-20 MPH and gusts to near 30 MPH, diminishing late in the day. However, cooler temperatures are forecast with highs only in the mid-50s north to mid-60s southeast, resulting in minimum RH values ranging from 50-60% in the afternoon, mitigating any fire weather concerns.
