Please contact us via NWS Chat, 800mhz radio or phone if you have questions or concerns with this forecast, ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING... .DISCUSSION... Based on current satellite and surface observation trends, south- southwest winds are expected to continue through early evening as a near-stationary frontal boundary remains situated from the Oklahoma Panhandle northeast through Clark County up into central Kansas. Because of the proximity of this boundary, wind direction may vary. Thunderstorms continue to develop southwestward along this boundary, potentially affecting Clark County by early evening. A few of these storms may become severe with large hail and damaging winds the main threat. The potential for a tornado or two cannot be ruled out. A cold front is still expected to push southward through western and central Kansas early this evening, turning winds northerly 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 to 45 mph generally after 7-8 PM CDT. Winds are then forecast to gradually subside later overnight into early Tuesday morning. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Mostly sunny (25-35 percent).
