Based on current satellite and surface observation trends, light and variable winds are expected to continue through early afternoon as a frontal boundary remains near stationary from the Texas Panhandle northeastward into south central Kansas, including in vicinity of Clark County. The boundary is expected to begin lifting slightly northward mid to late afternoon, allowing light south-southwest winds to return with winds potentially becoming moderately gusty through early evening. Thunderstorms are expected to develop along and ahead of said boundary late this afternoon, then move east-northeast through this evening. A few of these storms may become severe with large hail and damaging winds the main threat. The potential for a tornado or two cannot be ruled out. A cold front is projected to push southward through western/central Kansas early this evening, turning winds northerly 20 to 30 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph generally after 7-8 PM CDT. .REST OF TODAY...
