...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...  
Lake Erie from near Dunkirk to Buffalo Harbor... 
The Upper and Lower Niagara River and Buffalo Harbor...

At 701 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable 
of producing winds in excess of 34 knots and large hail. These 
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 37 nm 
northwest of Ripley, moving east at 45 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Small Boat Harbor, Van Buren Point, Lake Erie Beach, Grand Island,
Woodlawn Beach, Erie Basin Marina, Sturgeon Point, Youngstown,
Wanakah, Lewiston, Dunkirk, Athol Springs, Bayview, and Sunset Bay.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

These strong thunderstorms will likely produce winds in excess of 34 
knots, large hail, and is likely to pose a serious hazard for 
boaters. A special marine warning will likely be required when these 
strong thunderstorms reach the nearshore waters. Boaters should 
consider heading for shore before these strong thunderstorms arrive.
