FNUS51 KBTV 181827 FWFBTV Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and Northern New York National Weather Service Burlington VT 227 PM EDT Mon May 18 2026 .DISCUSSION... ...Unseasonably Warm Conditions Continue on Tuesday... Another day of unseasonably warm conditions will be observed on Tuesday with high temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s. Dewpoints will also be on the rise with afternoon dewpoints possibly reaching the mid 60s. Daytime min RH values will drop between 40 and 50 percent which will lessen fire weather concerns. We will see some south to southwest winds up to 20 mph through the day on Tuesday with winds likely to continue into the overnight hours. A few strong to locally severe storms may bring localized stronger winds to a few locations but widespread severe weather is not anticipated at this time. A cold front will move through Wednesday morning and could bring a few more rain showers but the bigger impact will be winds shifting to the west/northwest and noticeably cooler temperatures.
