Scattered thunderstorms are expected across northern Michigan this afternoon, most likely between noon and 7 PM. Severe storms will be possible with the primary hazards being damaging winds, hail, and frequent lightning. Winds will increase out of the south-southwest this morning with sustained 20 ft wind speeds around 10 mph with gusts to 20-30 mph late this morning into this evening. Occasional gusts in excess of 30 mph will be possible. These south-southwest winds will help bring more moisture into the region, helping to keep minimum RHs in the 50-60 percent range today.
