A frontal boundary south of the waters will move back north this morning. Meanwhile, an area of low pressure over the Great Lakes will move northeast into northern New England by this evening. The associated cold front will pass across the waters tonight, with an area of strong high pressure building in behind it. Additionally, most model guidance shows the potential for a coastal low to develop along the cold front. This low has the potential to linger off the Southeast coast well into next week, resulting in a prolong period of elevated winds and seas.
