...STRONG SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WESTERN FLORIDA 

STRAITS...



The areas affected include...

Straits of Florida from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to 20 nm west

of Dry Tortugas out 60 nm...



At 718 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a 

band of strong showers and thunderstorms, capable of producing wind 

gusts near 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line 

extending from 28 nm southwest of Twenty-Eight Foot Shoal Light to 

34 nm south of Wood's Wall East Crack, moving northwest at 15 knots.



Strong thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally

rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and

potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as

safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.
