At 123 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Hilton Head

Reef, moving southeast at 5 knots.



HAZARD...Wind gusts to 34 knots.



SOURCE...Buoy. At 111 AM, a Weatherflow sensor reported a 39 knot

         wind gust.



IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and

         suddenly higher waves.



Locations impacted include...

  Betsy Ross Reef, Hilton Head Reef, Beaufort 45 Feet Reef, General

  Gordon, R7 Tower, Buoy L, Dredge Henry, Hunting Island Reef, Latex

  Barge, Sayler Barge, Tug Delta Diamond, Tug Senasqua, Gaskins Bank

  Wreck, Gaskin Banks and Fish America.

  Coastal waters from Cape Fear NC to Little River Inlet SC out 20 

  NM...

  Coastal waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC out 20 nm...

  Waters from Surf City NC to Little River Inlet SC from 20 to 60 

  NM...



At 152 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located

near Mount Dirfy's Wreck, moving northeast at 30 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until this storm passes. If caught on the open water,

prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are

wearing properly fitted life jackets.



This storm may produce a waterspout. A Special Marine Warning may be

needed.
