The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Nearshore and Open waters from Reno Beach OH to Avon Point OH...



* Until 300 AM EDT.



* At 130 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing

  waterspouts was located near Put-In-Bay, moving east at 20 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small 

           hail.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Put-In-Bay, Western Vermilion, Huron, Kelleys Island, Sandusky Bay,

  and Vermilion.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.



Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the

open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded

metal objects.

* At 148 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 17 nm east of

  Wreck 33, moving north at 15 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

           suddenly higher waves.



* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
