...HEAVY RAIN FOR KETCHIKAN AND METLAKATLA POSSIBLE...



An incoming system will move over the panhandle Sunday into Monday, 

bringing extended periods of moderate to heavy rain for the southern 

panhandle. Highest rain rates are expected during Sunday evening 

into Monday possibly reaching around 0.3 inches per hour, primarily 

for Ketchikan, Metlakatla, and Misty Fjords. Rainfall totals could 

be as high as 2 to 3.5 inches by Monday afternoon. Confidence has 

increased on heavy rain over Annette Island and Ketchikan areas with 

highest rain totals near Misty Fjords. Small streams and rivers may 

rise, but no flooding is expected at this time.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN TODD COUNTY UNTIL

845 AM CDT...



At 820 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over

Soldier Creek, or 14 miles west of Mission, moving east at 20 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around

         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

  Mission, Rosebud, Parmelee, Ring Thunder, Fairgrounds Housing,

  Soldier Creek, He Dog and Rosebud Reservation.
