The northwesterly wind will create plenty of lake effect cloud cover. The showers should start to taper off after midnight, but a few will linger into the morning across the northern tier. There is a small potential for snow to mix into the rain showers that do last until early morning. Any very light accumulations will be limited to grassy surfaces in the highest elevations. Dry conditions start Saturday morning and are expected to continue through the first half of the work week. Strong winds will continue tonight and Saturday, as much colder air works into the area. Gusts into the 30s will be common overnight. Low temperatures tonight will range from the lower 30s across northwestern Pennsylvania to the upper 40s in the Lower Susquehanna Valley. Highs on Saturday will be about 20 to 30 degrees colder than Friday, only reaching the 40s in the mountains to lower 50s in the southeastern piedmont.
