The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical

Storm Simon, located a few hundred miles south-southeast of the

southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, and on Hurricane

Trudy, located a few hundred miles southwest of Acapulco, Mexico.



Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 7 days.

For the eastern and central North Pacific east of 180 longitude:



Active Systems:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical 

Storm Simon, located a few hundred miles south-southeast of the 

southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, and on Hurricane 

Trudy, located a few hundred miles southwest of Acapulco, Mexico.



South of Southern Mexico:

An area of low pressure is forecast to form offshore of southern 

Mexico during the early to middle part of next week. Environmental 

conditions appear conducive for gradual development thereafter, and 

a tropical depression could form during the latter half of next week 

while it moves generally westward to west-northwestward over the 

eastern and central portions of the East Pacific. 

* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. 

* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...60 percent.
