The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Lake Ontario from near Youngstown to near Greece, NY.



* Until 400 PM EDT.



* At 253 PM EDT, showers and thunderstorms capable of producing 

  waterspouts were located along a line extending from 15 nm north 

  of Sunset Beach to 13 nm north of Niagara River to 10 nm north of 

  Fort Niagara, moving east at 30 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Wilson, Sunset Beach, Thirty Mile Point, Olcott, and Hamlin Beach.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily

overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor

immediately.
