  Moriches Inlet to Montauk Point NY out 60 NM...



* Until 1045 AM EDT.

          

* At 944 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing

  waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Great

  Peconic Bay to 27 nm southwest of Buoy 44017, moving east at 25

  knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas.



* Severe thunderstorms will be near...

  Buoy 44017 around 1020 AM EDT.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.

Gusty winds, high waves, lightning, and heavy rain are expected with

these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if

possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
