  Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD...



* Until 1100 PM EDT.



* At 1006 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 8 nm southwest of

  Potomac Creek, moving northeast at 25 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by 

           suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel.



* Locations impacted include...

  Potomac Creek, Maryland Point, Nanjemoy Creek, Port Tobacco River,

  Cobb Island, Swan Point, Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial

  Bridge, Popes Creek, Brent Point, Westmoreland State Park, Fairview

  Beach, Colonial Beach, and Dahlgren.

  Chesapeake Bay from Smith Point to Windmill Point VA...



* Until 1215 AM EDT.



* At 1053 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing

  waterspouts were located along a line extending from Northern Neck

  Reef to Onancock Inlet, moving northeast at 20 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Smith Point, Onancock Inlet, Lower Bernard Island, Nandua

  Pungoteague Reef, Watts Island, San Marcos Wreck, Tangier Island,

  Northern Neck Reef, Anglers Reef, and Crisfield.
