Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 30.8 inch high moving through the Plains today weakens to 30.6 inches as it continues eastward. This weakening is expected to bring 30.4 inch ridging over Lake Superior by this evening. The high then slides south of the Great Lakes at 30.5 inches by Saturday night as a 29.2 inch Alberta Clipper moves through the northern Canadian Prairie Provinces towards Hudson Bay, deepening to 29.0 inches by the time it arrives at Hudson Bay on Sunday. This low is expected to bring weak 30.0 inch troughing to northern Lake Superior throughout the day Sunday. As the low continues east over Hudson Bay and weakens with time Sunday night into Monday afternoon, expect high pressure ridging of 30.3 inches to return to the Upper Great Lakes by Monday. The high pressure ridging strengthens to 30.4 inches over Lake Superior by Tuesday as the now 30.5 inch parent high over northern Ontario continues east into northern Quebec, deepening to 30.6 inches as it does so.
