...FLOOD WATCH FOR AN ICE JAM IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues to be possible.



* WHERE...Lower Yukon River. This includes the communities of 

  Russian Mission, Marshall, Pilot Station, and St. Mary's.



* WHEN...Through Tuesday evening.



* IMPACTS...High water may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, 

  streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - The breakup front along the Yukon River is currently jammed

    10 miles downstream of Russian Mission. High water and runs

    of heavy ice from the Yuki River ice jam release have been

    causing rapid water level rises as it approaches communities.

    Yukon River communities that have not experienced ice jams

    are still experiencing high water and minor flooding.

    Communities downstream of the current breakup front should

    expect similar water levels as the breakup front moves past

    their location.

  to be possible.



* WHERE...Lower Yukon and Innoko Valleys.  This includes the 

  communities of Grayling, Holy Cross, and Shageluk.



* WHEN...Through Tuesday evening.



* IMPACTS...High water may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, 

  streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

THIS EVENING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by high water continues to be possible.



* WHERE...Middle Yukon Valley. This includes the communities of 

  Galena, Nulato, Kaltag, and Koyukuk.



* WHEN...Until 10 PM AKDT this evening.



* IMPACTS...High water may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, 

  streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - Water levels were reported to be dropping at Galena and

    Koyukuk as of Monday morning. No further water level rises

    are expected, however, wetlands will take time to drain.
