A drying and slow warming trend remains in the offing into the upcoming weekend, as upper level ridging builds across western Colorado behind yesterday's parting system. A few wrap around showers will be possible through the afternoon, with moderate northerly flow aloft today become more westerly and weaken through the day on Friday, with said weaker flow aloft limiting smoke dispersions into early next week. Increasing southwest flow aloft is expected early next week, ahead of another weather system digging into the Great Basin region. The increasing flow aloft will bring better dispersions through the middle of next week, along with increasing chances of precipitation to areas along the Continental Divide. Models differ on how this system moves across the state through the end of next week, though we would expect some precipitation and cooler temperatures across the area by the end of the next work week. .REST OF TODAY... A warming and drying trend will begin on Friday, with a prolonged period of above average temperatures and mostly sunny skies. Friday will feature seasonably cool temperatures, with a high in the upper 40s. Minimum relative humidity will fall to about 30 percent with light winds expected. As high pressure strengthens over the area, temperatures will rise to about 60 degrees on Saturday. This is above average for mid to late October. Winds will be strongest on Saturday with sustained west winds at 15 to 20 MPH and gusts to 30 MPH. The breezy conditions and above average temperatures will lead to drying conditions, with minimum relative humidity likely falling in the 20 to 25 percent range. Breezy conditions will continue into Sunday morning, with winds gradually weakening as the day progresses. High temperature and minimum relative humidity will be comparable to Saturday. Dry and mild conditions will continue through mid week, with light winds likely through Wednesday. High temperatures Monday through Wednesday will hover around 60. Although precipitation chances during this time will be minimal, minimum relative humidity will gradually increase as the week progresses due to a potent trough potentially arriving towards the end of the week. Minimum relative humidity will be in the 30s Monday through Wednesday. Due to light winds on Monday, smoke dispersal will be poor during the morning hours, but become fair during the afternoon. Smoke dispersal will be similar for Tuesday, with poor conditions in the morning and fair to possibly good conditions in the afternoon. .FRIDAY... Sky/weather.........Sunny (0-10 percent).
