Cloud cover will be increasing today as low pressure approaches, which will be bringing showers and thunderstorms to the area this evening into Wednesday. A few scattered showers, potentially an isolated thunderstorm, arrive late tonight around 0300. Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms will continue on and off through the day Tuesday. A few storms may become strong to severe on Tuesday afternoon and evening, most likely in the 1500 to 2100 time frame. Potential severe hazards include gusty and erratic winds to 60 mph and large hail to 1" in diameter. A tornado also cannot be ruled out. Total precipitation is forecast to be 0.4" over Little Knife tonight through Wednesday. If one of the severe storms moves directly over the fire area, higher amounts of 1 to 2+" will certainly be possible. Expect southerly winds today and tomorrow to shift to the northwest on Wednesday after a cold front sweeps through. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Mostly sunny (40-50 percent). Very hot temperatures are expected this afternoon where there is a slight chance that temperatures could exceed 110 degrees. Because of the hot temperatures, relative humidity values will bottom out in the lower teens after a poor recovery this morning. Winds are anticipated to remain out of the southwest to west today increasing in speed after sunrise. Wind speeds will increase to between 15 and 20 mph with gusts between 25 and 30 mph. These winds will likely peak late in the morning and decrease in speed through the afternoon. Additionally, a cold front will move southward through the Texas Panhandle. Although there is a high likelihood of this front remaining north of the wildfire, there is a very small chance that it will reach to the wildfire late this afternoon. Winds may become variable in direction in close proximity to the front. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Sunny (15-25 percent). CWR.................10 percent. Max temperature.....Around 107.
