Fire weather concerns continue to be limited as moisture continues to move back into the area leading to gradually increasing rain chances. Showers and thunderstorms will become more area-wide Wednesday through the weekend. Over the next 7 days forecast rainfall totals vary from 4 to 7 inches across northwestern areas to less than an inch for extreme southeast Louisiana and much of the Mississippi coast. For most of the area, for most of the week, minimum humidities are likely to be 60 percent or higher every day. .QUESTIONS... 1) Probability intensity and duration of fog possible Wed night into Thurs morning Can't rule out patchy areas of fog, however, will be fully dependent on if the area sees rain today. If so, chances for patchy fog will be higher. But regardless, not anticipating widespread dense fog concerns. 2) Will there be a sea breeze Doesn't appear to be a well-defined seabreeze today thanks to persistent/breezy SE winds. Rather, winds pick up mid/late morning and remain out of the southeast through the afternoon/evening without any significant wind shift. .TODAY... Sky/weather.........Mostly cloudy (70-80 percent). Winds this morning will be variable in wind direction and around 5 mph. You should start to see winds beginning to become southeasterly by 10-11 AM this morning and once they settle on SE, it will generally remain from the southeast to south through the day. Wind speeds will pick up as well by afternoon and the burnsite is right on the edge of where the higher winds will be in eastern North Dakota. Speeds should generally range between 15-20 mph sustained with gusts approaching 25-30 mph at times, but those higher thresholds are more likely to be confined to North Dakota. Relative humidity today is a bit uncertain thanks to the recent rains we had. Because of the recent rain, there isn't an expectation at this point for significant mixing bringing RH down to the 20s, so the current thinking is the reasonable lowest will be in the low 30s. The most likely minimum relative humidity this afternoon is roughly 33-37%. Recovery tonight will depend on overnight temperatures but will rise to above 60% by midnight. Winds remain elevated through tomorrow with only small variances in wind direction change. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Sunny (5-15 percent). Max temperature.....Around 64.
